Dipendenza dal web: i giovani sono più a rischio

I giovani sono sempre più dipendenti da internet. Un fenomeno che negli ultimi anni si è manifestato come una vera patologia simile a quella dei dipendenti da sostanze stupefacenti o alcol. Lo spiega lo psichiatra, Federico Tonioni coordinatore dell’ambulatorio, nato nel 2009, del Policlinico Gemelli di Roma per curare la dipendenza patologica da internet, ovvero, i disturbi del comportamento ossessivo verso il web.
Un evento sociale allarmante se si pensa che alcuni adolescenti restano collegati alla Rete fino a tarda notte per giocare a giochi di ruolo online e condividere ‘emozioni’ sui social network come Facebook o Twitter smettendo anche di andare a scuola. ”Un fenomeno – spiega Tonioni – in crescita proporzionalmente a quanto la tecnologia evolve” perche’ ”connesso all’unica industria che oggi è in continua evoluzione”.
L’equipe di psicologi coordinati da Tonioni negli ultimi due anni e mezzo ha curato oltre 450 persone con una manifesta dipendenza da internet: il 20% dei pazienti adulti dai 30 anni in sù sono affetti da gioco d’azzardo online e cyber-sex (chat erotiche e video) e ”in molti casi non vanno più a lavorare.
Non rimangono al computer solo un’ora per svago, ma prendono addirittura le ferie dal lavoro”. La maggior parte dei pazienti, invece, sono adolescenti (da 11 fino a 23 anni). Si dedicano ai social network ma soprattutto ai giochi di ruolo online che rappresentano i casi prevalenti patologici”.
